Kaziranga Park Reopens, Now You Can Enjoy a Wildlife Safari in the Park

Kaziranga National Park Reopens for the 2024 Tourism Season, Introduces New Recreational Activities in the Park.

The mighty land of great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) is now opening up for tourists. The four-and-a-half-month-long closure of the park, which started on May 15th, ends with the end of September. From October 1, safaris in every zone of the Kaziranga forest have begun.

Every year, the Kaziranga National Park closes in the monsoon season due to the risk of flooding in the Brahmaputra river that obstructs the safari trails. But this year, the monsoon ended just right, thus the park opened up for wildlife buffs earlier than last year. Furthermore, the Orang National Park, located on the other side of the Brahmaputra River is also opened up simultaneously.

Along with the announcement of the 2024 opening date of Kaziranga, the Forest Authority will also introduce other recreational activities like cycling and birding tours in the less touristy regions of the park. These added tours will be a unique experience for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts planning to visit Kaziranga.
